I already told you why whites anointed King. He was safer than all the other alternatives that were scaring the Bejeezus outta white American. You already knew that anyway.
Now you wanna decry his big clay feet and expect black folks to follow suit. The answer is NO.
Furthermore, African Americans like myself aren’t going along with the attempt to pit King against Douglass or anyone else. The present arrangement is a done deal. If African Americans decide to take MLK down a peg, it won’t be because of external forces. It’ll be because WE see the need to do so.

King promoted non violence in the Civil Rights movement, which was a genius move. Who in their right mind would oppose peacefully asking for justice. It was a political move akin to the Emancipation Proclamation.
It sounds like you claim King's legacy as the exclusive property of blacks, which is not true. A political figure is judged by the balance of the nation for their actions, regardless of color.
So King was a pervert- live with it. I think that one needs to separate accomplishments from personal actions and legacy. Obviously, King was not a great human being, but was a great leader. History is full of similar examples and one needs to understand that essentially all historical figures were flawed.
However, this should be a lesson to the American Taliban (liberals) who are tearing down every statue/monument of every political figure that they view through the prism of modern liberalism. Next time a monument is torn down by liberals, think about King's personal actions.

Nah...we’ll STILL be going after the Confederate, racist, seditious, Slave owning traitors from the South and demanding that our tax dollars aren’t used to maintain their statues and other commemorative items. Those still have to go if they’re anywhere near where we live or even gallivant.
