I have a hard time believing that 16 tons of cocaine was manufactured in Liberia. Not a lot of cocoa plants there. Probably contracted by someone south of the border, and many Liberians don't have much to lose so they crew the ship hoping for a big payday if they get it through. Increased border security could be pushing smugglers to try new things like this. The point is, they were caught and that's a win-win no matter whose side you're on. Too bad we can't dispel with the Trump hate and actually secure the border, which you would think would be in everyone's best interest?

Many ships have a Liberian registration, just like many have a Panamanian one.

Are you saying this is proof that drugs do not cross our southern border?

Maybe Liberia is not the source.

The ship’s previous ports of call were the Bahamas on June 31, Panama on June 9, Peru on May 24 and Colombia on May 19, records show.

Let's take this opportunity to recall that the White House budget proposal cut the Coast Guard budget in favor of the damnfool wall, shall we?

Just like many corporations are nominally based in Delaware. And for basically the same reasons - lax regulation.

No I won’t. The wall is needed and I have good information that particular container was monitored when it left Africa. The seizure was inevitable.

Denver would have hit a figurative gold mine if this cocaine stash was grown there.

Lets take the opportunity to mention that both teams favor continuing the war on drugs.
