This religious vacuum is only set to last another 20-30 years maybe, at best.

There's a new growing religious presence in Britain that is far more.... shall we be polite and say.... SURE of itself than the dead Anglican Church.

What is this 'new growing religious presence in Britain' that you are referring to?

To me, there are two - atheism and Islam.

Except that atheism isn't a religion - calling atheism a religion, would be like calling belief a religion.

There is not enough information here why this abortion has been ordered to take place. Lots of disabled women have babies, without State interference. My guess is that this article is biased.

I guess the woman could go back to Nigeria and have her baby there? Or will she not get support for life from the taxpayer in Nigeria?

The verdict was overturned on appeal earlier today.

The system in the UK is secular, indeed it's usually when court rulings are based on religion and obscure religious text that problems arise, and the law should be as secular as possible imho.

According to Press Association reports, the judges said they would issue a full explanation of their decision at a later date, but that the circumstances of the case were “unique.”

Mrs Justice Nathalie Lieven imposed the original decision on June 21 in the Court of Protection in England, which hears cases involving the legal and personal affairs of people judged to have diminished mental capacity.

Still confused why abortion gets mixed up with Christianity. The only mention of abortion in the Bible is instructions on how to get one at the temple(trial of bitter water) and that life begins at first breath.

Judge orders forced abortion in London for disabled women at 22-weeks (late 2nd trimester).

https://www.nytimes.com/2019/06/23/w...0kH7nxjom_VNzM

"Both the woman and her mother, identified by news reports as a former midwife from Nigeria, are against terminating the pregnancy, with the older woman offering to care for the child, according to the court and news media reports. The woman’s lawyers and a social worker also objected to terminating the pregnancy."
