Oh give it a rest SJW boy. It's a metaphor, and stop with the self righteous indignation. Maybe worry more about the actual destruction, and erasure of history these flakes want.
Apparently it wasn’t a metaphor, the poster just came back with another retort that the people in SF need to be “washed away”.
And I’m no SJW, I don’t even agree with the removal of this mural. But that’s small potatoes compared to the unvarnished hatred for fellow Americans being spewed in this thread.
If SF is protesting this stuff, only a matter of time before Seattle does the same only to up the ante wanting to change the name of the State of Washington. Just unreal. What an embarrassment.
I don't think San Francisco as a city hates America or Georgetown Washington. San Francisco would be better off spending 600,000 dollars to clean up homelessness and to feed the homeless, vs removing an high school mural of George Washington. Homelessness is just as a big crisis as racism in this country. I understand that George Washington is not a saint. He owned slaves, and possibly did questionable acts towards poor whites and Native Americans during the colonial period. Spending 600k to remove a mural is a waste, and that money should be spent on better use such as homelessness in SF. And I understand where the city San Francisco is coming from, racism is a big issue now, especially with Trump being president. I'm not very fond of censorship, and I'm also not fond of revisionist history, and at times history can be very painful to those on the receiving end. What I also find interesting is that this is coming out of San Francisco which at the moment is at the for front of the censorship campaign in tech and in social media. If they are going to replace the art work. I hope the art is replaced with some 21st century. I'm surprised that the city of San Francisco has not changed the schools name.

My apologies then. However, I really don't thinks he means people should die in a huge storm.

I'm a former resident of the Bay Area, and yes it is coming. Portland, and Seattle are currently going through the same stuff, but in other areas.
How about the historical, and artistic facets of the mural? Why weren't they considered in the decision?
