he said it was out of respect for his wife, he didn't want her to worry, and therefore was avoiding situations where she may worry. are you saying he's lying?
He gave a couple reasons during the CNN interview they gave, one of which was to eliminate the change of false accusations because of the current political climate in this country. It's in the CNN video clip that you're scared to watch.
I'll give Mitch credit. He's really really good at being a partisan obstructionist.
Sometimes you gotta get down in the mud and fight like the dogs you're fighting. I don't like how it was done but the ends justify the means, I'm happy with the results and enjoyed watching the democrats cry about it.

Was I where? Wouldn't the accuser have to know when and where something allegedly took place before I can tell you if I was there or not?
