I think AOC has the edge here. Pelosi have lately been living on the leftist agenda, but AOC is basically the younger more fierce (and more extreme) proponent of basically the same positions. It's also a good timing for AOC, as she is riding the edge of the same direction the pendulum is currently swinging among hardcore social-"liberals".
I would be surprised if "the squad" doesn't sway a lot of older dems simply because they are politically afraid of them. The squad as an additional advantage, AOC among others platform was basically about taking up the fight not just with republicans but also against democrats who aren't strongly enough emphasizing certain key points. AOC did not throw a republican out of office when she got elected, but rather an old gray haired democrat who wasn't SJW enough.
Pelosi on the other hand only have losing outcomes from a fight.
Then be prepared to be surprised. My parents are in their 80s. They are dyed in the wool Democrats. They have no fear of AOC or any other Democrat. They hang out in a large social group of seniors, many of whom are also Democrats. There is no fear there among them of four junior Congresswomen.

I'm gonna bet "no", meaning they're the voters who get out-shouted by the young extremer voters and politicians, getting the worst part of the whole thing.

I am not as dismissive of these young women as many are. The "newcomers who want to shake things up" is an ancient plot scheme, and we all know how it normally turns out. The newcomers eventually become old-timers, and they learn how to pursue their ideas within the structure. Or they leave if they're too impatient, and find another avenue for their agendas. It's just how change happens.
1. Pelosi is a highly medicated nut job who used to possess power and a reach far beyond my understanding. Now she's just taking up space.
2. AOC is not a comparative amateur - she's an extraordinary amateur. Who has been empowered and emboldened by the far-left group that recruited her and that currently pulls her strings. She has also been empowered by the media because she is ratings gold. And finally she has been empowered by the Democrat Party itself. Go back and find her Green New Deal announcement. Watch all the old white male politicians standing behind her. They had all held office for years if not decades, and they all stood behind this entitled child all robotically smiling and clapping like mindless seals - all the while knowing that she was laying out a complete bunch of garbage that would never, ever become policy. Ever. But she is a star. Because the party and the media turned her INTO a star, and these men stood behind her hoping upon hope that maybe...........just maybe...........some of the luster of this shiny new object would fall on them as well because they were standing on the same stage as the Great AOC. No shame. No dignity. No pride. Just extraordinarily pitiful.
3. The Democrat Party and Pelosi have all damaged themselves by allowing dirty laundry to be aired in public. Disagreements among party members is to be expected. Significant disagreement between members and the Speaker should be resolved behind closed doors. Always. And freshmen Congresswomen should be seen and not heard. They have been in office for five minutes. Shut up, be grateful for your place at the table, don't open your mouth until you've had a chance to even learn where the restrooms are located.
Pelosi is a skilled politician who isn’t afraid of challenging Trump unlike the spineless republicans we currently have in office.
I agree with this. Bill Maher seem to be on the same trail, the "Moderate democrat" is getting pushed out slowly.
I also think people like AOC may be the greatest campaigners for a second term of Trump white house. While their fans get more content with them, that puddle of fans get smaller when those in between get pushed to the other side.

AOC will allow Trump to win in 2020 with far more ease, than w/o her.
Middle America will again decide the election, and they are not East Coast radicals. They are the wwc with the lunch bag, who belong to the NRA.

This is in response to jude who I have on ignore but someone quoted them. You really are sheltered - I've said before my father was an alternate in NY state when Jimmy Carter was running in the primaries. My father has not voted Democrat since Clinton and after the spectacle he made of the office was sorry he voted for him then.
Your parents have no need to fear AOC as they'll be long gone before the far leftists gain enough power to make this country worse than it already is - if they get the chance. It's people like you or I and definitely our kids who will see and suffer the consequences if the far left ever takes control. I doubt very much that your parents or their friends are that concerned with politics and more concerned with how to make the rest of their lives as fulfilling as possible.
Problem is - who is going to take care of all the people getting all the freebies? Are your kids or grandkids willing to work hard to support those who don't want to? A true Democrat asks not what can their country do for them - but what they can do for their country. The leftists of today are saying - don't worry about what you can do for your country - just ask what they can do for you. Hardly a true Democrat view.

I think the outcome is in question. We're not talking about people who are just newcomers. We're talking about women whom, if unsupported or told to tone it down, will accuse others of being against powerful women, Islamophobic, against brown people, against black people, etc. Therefore, by default, they'll be given a platform.
I took the question to mean, who is going to acquiesce to whom. Will they come out of it more subdued, which means Pelosi won, or will they come out of it fired up and saying they will not be silenced, in which case they won.
Pelosi has tried to reign in AOC previously with no success. I doubt she'll have success again unless she really threatens to stick it to them somehow.
These women have constituents who love them. I don't think they're going away anytime soon and I don't see them toning down the rhetoric over time.
Like most who fall to the far left or far right on the political spectrum, they seem *off*, to put it nicely.

House Speaker Nancy Pelosi will meet Friday with far-left Rep. Alexandria Ocasio-Cortez in an effort to stop the recent infighting between the Democratic Party's progressive and moderate blocs in the lower chamber of Congress.
