All of those were old projections by the time he made his statement. Does the President not get those hourly updates that his team said he was getting? If he did then he would have known that by the 1st, when he made his statement, those projections were no longer being used.
Except for the fact that the NWS updates their projections multiple times a day, and by the morning of the 1st no projected path included Alabama. Trump was supposedly getting hourly updates, su why was he speaking about 3 day old projections?
How would I know?
If the press did its job instead of lying in wait to attack Trump, we would know wouldn't we?
Seems like the first thing one of them would have done when this happened is ask the WH why there was a conflict between the WH/NWS.
BTW, I doubt every briefing the President got included new info about storm track. The storm was basically hanging in one place for hours/days and they weren't really sure where it was going or how far inland it was coming.
There are lots of other things to be briefed about during a hurricane.

Diversion. He'd prefer you talk about this than guns, Stormy Daniels, Congress returning to hold impeachment hearings, his kid about China trade talks influencing the DJIA.
Another top news story was Pence staying at Trump Resort in Ireland which is 3 hrs away from where Pence had meetings. Pence said Trump suggested he stay at the resort and Trump denied it. This story got buried with Sharpiegate.
Just another episode in this wacky reality show in which we are all involved. Stay tuned to see what the writers have come up with for next week.
Five years ago, if what is going on with this administration had been submitted as a proposed cable show, it probably would have been rejected as too far from reality. Yet we have now come to the point where we just accept these things as normal. Darnedest thing I've ever seen in my many years.
How was reporting what he said of any use to the American public when they didn't bother to find out why there was conflicting info being issued?

Pffft…….they didn't ask...…….if they had they would have reported they were waiting for response or couldn't get one from the WH
