I thought the GOP wasn’t a fan of eminent domain?

Oh the GOP loves using eminent domain if it can make them or their backers money

Theory and reality have never more apart than in the actions of the GOP

Where did you get that idea? It's not like their entire properties will be taken just enough to build the wall. I think it's pretty selfish to object to it since it's about our national security. I say those who refuse to yield a small portion of their land we build around them and then they can just deal with the illegal trespassers, criminals, terrorists, drug runners who will just funnel right through their property then. Bet they'll be begging for a wall in no time.

Eminent domain is necessary evil for large infrastructure projects whether it's power lines, water, highways or a border wall. Projects like this could never get done without it. What I'm not a fan of is seizing property only to sell it to Wal-Mart or someone else.

They won't be able to stop it, if anything they may sue if they feel the offered is too small. Given the area a lot of the wall will be built I would assume most landowners are going to be quite happy to get that check.

Just another "hate the wall" thread.

I thought the left hates wealthy land owners. The 1%ers.

It is what it is.

They'll get paid market value. They never lose.

Build the wall!!!

OH! It is being built!!!

The government has taken land before 'just because'. They've take property 'just because'. They've taken bank accounts 'just because'. This doesn't register too high on the scale of **** the government has taken.

I am sure Cliven Bundy and his merry militia will carry on the fight for the ranchers and against Big Government. Any. Minute. Now.

About our national security—
Yet the GOP doesn’t care that Trump was throwing the Ukraine under the Russian troikas???
