Peter Novarro, Trump's Trade guru was asked if any other Trade economist thought that Trade Wars are a Good-Idea. He said "no, just me"

We're absolutely no closer to ending this war than when it began. "Phase One" is a joke! All it does is roll back some of the added tariffs. We've gained absolutely nothing from this "Easy-'n-Quick to Win Trade War." And we've lost 300,000 jobs and .7% of GDP.

"so much winning"

What's the alternative? Continue pumping our wealth into Communist China so they can lord over their people, bully their neighbors, and build an army to intimidate the world? Do you support the concentration camps that are operating and being used to forcibly "reform" Muslims? Is there any reason the USA should be enabling them to violate basic human rights?

If you can take your mind off the selfish, lustful pursuit of more cheap, easily breakable crap to fill your home and life, and look at the big picture, you will understand.

Trump is a protectionist, period. He’s been lying to us all along when he says that he wants or likes free trade.

Nah, we can't have any of that, now can we! The lives our forefathers, even the lives our parents lived is not good enough for us any longer!

Andy, most of these issues that you cite are simply NOT even under discussion in the Trade War: "bully their neighbors, and build an army to intimidate the world, concentration camps that are operating and being used to forcibly "reform" Muslims. Is there any reason the USA should be enabling them to violate basic human rights?" aren't even under discussion

This Trade War is strictly about fair trade - read: no tariffs - and theft of IP.

You don't understand that buying from China isn't giving China $$ fro free - we get iPhones, TV's etc. THIS IS THE BIG PICTURE.

Americans and american companies $reimburse China for our imposed tariffs.

If you wanna stop concentration camps etc. it's simple! - Sanction China until they stop.

Say Andy, question for ya:

Do you only buy American-made products?! Your iPhone would cost $2K instead of $1K if it was made in America

You also ignored my main point: virtually no one except Trump and Navarro think this Trade War id a Good-Idea.

And, we're NOT winning - we're not making ANY progress

This seems to be good - pending how much is going out.

May 2019... Tariff Revenues Up Sharply

As a direct result of these actions, U.S. tariff revenues have nearly doubled. In 2018 the U.S. collected a record-high $50 billion in customs duties. During the first four months of 2019, Treasury Department data reveals customs duties totaled $22 billion, up 78% from prior-year levels, and reaching a high of $6.6 billion in January 2019. Assuming the current pace of tariff revenue collections continues, the U.S. will collect nearly $72 billion in customs duties in 2019 – topping the previous record by $22 billion.

The first thing that would have to occur to establish a free trade environment with China would be the abolishment of the EPA so the US can freely pollute as bad as they do. Do you advocate that?

We've been in a Trade War with China for decades, and they have been WINNING. Look at our Trade Deficit with them. Trump is the first President to address it, and it is working. It will take more time, but they are getting the message and have lifted some tariffs recently.

We've never had "FREE TRADE" witch China due to THEIR onerous tariffs and restrictions. Wake up Libs.
