I'm thinking trump wants to be impeached by the house to force the house democrats elected from conservative states to vote against him. I assume he thinks those same democrats will lose their elections in 2020 if they do.

Actually Trump has exhausted the goodwill of fair minded Americans with his outrageous and unpresidential behavior. We want a return to normal sane government which is why most of us will be voting D in 2020.

He lies for a reason, confusion and misinformation are helpful to him. I think Trump knows, or at least by now has become aware, that the investigations will expose and reveal too much, stripping away the lies and the distortions.
If the POTUS acting in his official capacity used his position to leverage taxpayer money for his personal political gain, that would be grounds for impeachment.
That would also apply to a sitting Vice President. Biden becomes President, would that allow him to be impeached for things he did as Vice President?

actually trump has been investigated by the democrats since he announced his candidacy. and of course, the DNC funded steele dossier.
The democrats are relentless, but as you say, there have been no criminal revelations on trump....only numerous revelations of how underhanded and inept the democrats have been.
The house might as well just create a permanent Presidential Impeachment Committee, because after this every Democrat President will be put through the same wringer as they put Trump through. We already know the reverse will continue.
