obviously the Trump admin is blocking all access to any documents and records and not honoring subpoenas. Many of the accusations are criminal in nature. Let's say nothing happens and a Democrat wins in 2020. Can't they just release the call transcripts to congress and the justice department? of course there wouldnt be an impeachment discussion anymore but if crimes occurred, wouldnt it be the obligation of the next president and justice department to expose and prosecute?

Sure, right after we get to see Obamas real birth certificate, and his college transcripts...oh and the un-redacted files on the JFK assassination...

Well by the rational the Democrats are using now for Biden all Trump would have to do is declare himself immediately running for the 2024 election. This would make any investigation into him involving any other country( most of those transcripts you are talking about) as an at attempt by the opposing party to gain foreign interference into an American Election. The very thing the Dems are accusing Trump of here. There would be no difference and laughingly ironic. I am sure all those Dems supporting Impeachment now would be happy to impeach that Dem President, yep sure they would

I would welcome a broad effort by the next President to declassify anything but the utmost secrets, Trump's documents included. The government is far too opaque. I would not support, however, selective release of Trump's documents only. Declassification/transparency should not be politically motivated or tinged.

The next non-Trump president won't take office till 2025 and I imagine most of the Trump derangement syndrome will have faded by then.... and if not it'll probably be another Republican in the white house.

The Democrats don't seem to realize that they're setting a dangerous precedent that will negatively affect this country for decades. Promoting hoaxes and smear campaigns to unseat a president in retribution for losing an election is the equivalent of a being a banana republic.

There are ways to do things and there are ways not to do things, and the Democrats better be wary that what comes around goes around. Their kangaroo court tactics will come back to haunt them. If they think they can continue with this charade forever they are in for a rude awakening.

No, it is not the same thing. We wouldn't have to ask Ukraine to investigate trump. we would be able to do that ourselves with our own documents. The whole call records on our own servers could be released along with any other transcripts. The new justice department could allow people to testify. Based on much of the reporting out there and everything the Trump administration is refusing to release, I am sure if there was something there, the Justice Dept would be able to make the case without needing any foreign assistance.

I doubt that the next President will be as obsessed with their predecessor as DT is with Obama. Further legal action will probably be left to the state courts.
