Fuel was at $2 a gallon during the pandemic when the price of oil went inverted to a negative value. That's not normal or healthy.
the price of fuel is entirely made up. The USA pumps oil around 25-28 bux per barrell. anything over that, when there is no disruption (there aint other than futures) is speculation by large financial entities. some may speculate (no pun) that a percieved interuption in future flow will impact contracts, like saudia arabia is about to be bombed, BUT that does not explain what happened in europe. russian GAS could/is/was impacted, but not crude and they are not interchangeable. Someone could speculate that denying off shore drilling, anf drilling ,anwar drilling and/or typing up the production permitting for years would impact future supply...and they would be right
Nobody is distracted... we see everything and we see it all happening at once... The woke, attacks on parents, attacks on religion, attacked on gender, attacks on freedom, on elections, on the legal system, and now on our wallets.
The greater issue is that a large portion of american citizens voting blue think all of these attacks are good and justified. They like the direction the country is headed regardless of the short term cost. In their minds the ends justifies the means and they have a new woke manifest destiny for this country.
A nation of no income inequality a nation where the outcomes regardless of gender and race are equal. If that means a few "haves" must face consequences for the "have nots" that is just fine.
Sadly, you are correct. The mind set of the newer generations (some not all) are not like ours (GenX), our parents, grandparents and great grandparents. Those on the left don't like the country as it's been, and want to change it. I think some of the intentions are good, but the execution ends up having the opposite effect.
The reaction is so over-the-top dramatic. So many people are triggered, and they don't have actual information, don't know how an investigation goes, don't understand process, and are not able to take in facts or learn what the steps are.
The mere idea of pausing, not jumping to conclusions, not panicking, and not spiraling into outrage 0 to 11, is unimaginable.
Inflation remains high at 8.5%, & Americans continue to feel it at the grocery store and at the fuel pumps. Yes, gas has come down, but nowhere near the ~$2 levels we were at under the last President. We are still above $4/gallon today.

Don't worry about it. Most people didn't pay attention to the congressional hearing concerning the Jan. 6th insurrection. Now they are not paying attention to the FBI raid on Trump's Florida home. What's on Netscape is always more interesting.
