Pictured below are oil well drilling operations recently started behind Staples, an office supply store in Stillwater, OK. While not very common, there's been oil wells pumping away for a long time in Stillwater. They can be found near homes and schools. If the oil wells had been a lot of trouble, I doubt the city council would have approved of the new drilling behind Staples. With that in mind, I feel drilling for oil should be allowed most anywhere it's likely to be found. People who don't want drilling done in certain places such as off the coast of Florida are being selfish and are not sharing or contributing to the need for more oil in this country. So let's drill for oil!

Oh no no no. Don't drill. Think of the sand fleas. We're destroying their environment.

Or is it the North American deer tick?

We darned well should drill! We can't keep whining and complaining and not drill in our own backyard for our own oil. Bunch of selfish wimps, that's what we are. It's an embarrassment.

Everyone agrees (yet little is done about it) that we have to look for alternative sources of energy up to an including nuclear. But it will take years to get there and in the meantime, we need energy. Some of us are going to have to let go of our 'druthers and face reality.

We continue to support foreign nations we should not support simply because we won't use our own resources.

If we can put up cell towers so people can chat endlessly about nothing, we can sure have an oil rig or two on the landscape.

It's Oklahoma for Christ's sake. It couldn't get more cruded up than it already is. How much could you hurt the property values in Oklahoma?

It's too bad that the oil companies capped off their wells in Southern California to convert that land to residential developments and strip malls. There's still oil in Southern California, but it is sitting beneath a blanket of McMansions and Quickie Marts.

Actually, it was Jebidiah Bush who said "think of the condo owners" from what I remember.

Now that the FL beachfront condo market was exposed for the Ponzi scheme that it was, I guess we'll be firing up the production in them there parts.
