A congressman who just straight up lies about who he is, and far more cheering on that the ethics committee is being destroyed. And the GOP is 100% ok with it.

You seem to be under the mistaken impression that the ethics committee has anything to do with ethics. Newflash: A more accurate name would be the "Investigate the Opposition Committee". Welcome to the real world.

If the ethics comittee is already a spineless joke, then it should be gutted.
The key thing here is that congress doesn't want a strong ethics committee, that's sadly non-partisan.
