DeSantis booed at vigil for Jacksonville shooting victims

Republican Gov. Ron DeSantis — who is running for the GOP nomination for president and has loosened gun laws in Florida and antagonized civil rights leaders by deriding "wokeness" — was loudly booed as he addressed the vigil.

DeSantis said the state would be announcing financial support Monday for security at Edward Waters University, the historically black college near where the shooting occurred, and to help the affected families. He called the gunman a "major league s---bag."

Some people in the crowd yelled, "He was a racist!" referring to the shooter, WJAX says. Others applauded the governor's comments.

"What he did is totally unacceptable in the state of Florida," DeSantis said. "We are not going to let people be targeted based on their race."

What's he going to do?
If you tell the truth ... the thread will likely disappear.

DeSantis and his 'anti-woke' madness is as much to blame for inflaming this savagery, and he knows when he's talking exactly what types of barbarians and savages tune in to the madness.

This tragedy should tell DeSantis and every other person who tries to block history books from telling the truth about racism and telling the truth of history and the impact it had on black people. Just how much that information is necessary.

I think you are missing somethings in a timeline that is important. It was the Democratic Party that divided our country to gain power, not the Republicans. This new Democratic bunch used race and gender for division, knowing they can get the emotional voters. The republicans are more live and let live clearly. Race was merely a tool for the dems and the damage can be seen far and wide with the BLM bunch. They caused billions and billions of damage to every city in the US for 4 1/2 years when they lost the election to Trump. 4 1/2 year temper tantrum. So you were saying some group was "barbarians and savages"? Yeah the leftist army that caused the billions and many lives were certainly savage. That is indisputable. Look at cities now. This is the damage the left caused. Downtowns are garbage everywhere. Thanks Dems! I used to be a member of that party for over 40 years! I had no choice but to leave them due to their race baiting tactics. How could I be a member of such a party? They make me sick what they did to our country and their division! Yet, they control all mainstream media, so they sure have a big army of woke drones.

Most likely the booing people were paid by the DNC to be there to do just that. It's also a democrat controlled hell hole.

He's an idiot for showing his face after a mass shooting. What the hell did he expect?

so you are saying, that if you do not embrace woke, you empower people to shoot other people?

what they say is true, if you live long enough, you will see/hear/read just about everything.....

what is interesting, is this removed the incident in pittsburgh COMPLETELY from the national view....not that the MSM covered it much anyways...you could only read about it on FOX or an offshore news source (which is a dang shame given that KDKA (cbs) just so happened to be on scene)

still curious how they had the 'manifesto' published within the hour, yet (how many months?) later we still wait for the heavily redacted/rewritten Audrey hale manifesto....

As jack Reacher once said "Pretty impressive response time fellas!"

......and if he doesn't show his face....he'd be attacked for that.

Personally, I'm glad he did because leadership isn't always being loved and ignoring other situations.

Mocking civil rights leaders, calling them names, and even creating laws to silence them is not earning him many friends except among the hard core base loyalists.
