Vivek 2024 CEO Ben Yoho urged the RNC to limit the next debate to the top four candidates in national polling besides former President Trump, in a letter addressed to RNC Chairwoman Ronna McDaniel and Committee on Arrangements co-Chairs David Bossie and Anne Hathaway. He also asked the RNC to raise the donor threshold to 100,000 donors.
“But against the backdrop of a chaotic second debate and the reality of a frontrunner who has declined to participate, we respectfully call on the RNC to revise its approach so that Republican voters can focus on serious candidates who have a viable path to beating Joe Biden—or whomever the Democrats put up to replace him,” Yoho wrote in the letter obtained by The Hill.
I really don't like this guy. He obviously believes the best way to win is to eliminate the "little guys".
His ego is clearly bigger than his odds. Vivek himself has no viable path to the nomination. He should be kicked off the debates. It should be DeSantis and Haley. All the rest are nothing more than noise.
There is nothing stopping him from inviting a few friends over for a political discussion and streaming it.
Those political party debates are furthermost from a real debate. Why they are called a debate is a mystery. The biggest mouth or bully just walks all over the rest. Give it back to the League of Women Voters if they'll do it.
IIRC, the candidates got too pushy in their demands.
The institution having the discussion makes the rules, not the participants.

I agree with him - then it won't be so chaotic and we'll be able to assess the policies and stands of each. I like Burgum but he's never going to reach the numbers needed nor are Pence or Christie.
I completely agree that the debates need a MAJOR overhaul, but the "lesser" candidates should have a chance to express themselves in public debate until they are eliminated by the rules the RNC (or whoever) sets, not according to what a candidate wants.

Well, that's inevitably what will happen... the party or the host will decide who participates. And candidates will always have opinions about it... having opinions is the defining quality of a candidate isn't it?

Of course, but I can't see how expressing such opinions will lead to many people thinking well of Vivek -- but then that might be a good thing, as people have more evidence on which to judge a candidate. It is difficult to criticize candidates who never express opinions, although I don't think that is actually much of a worry!
