I had started a thread talking about the shortages at local pantries, which is very true and real...and then it turned political somehow.

Although the bottom half or so of Americans are struggling, the top half of Americans with assets are doing extremely well.

Home prices have been solid. My husband has 3 homes paid off (at age 34!) and the value of the homes have skyrocketed in recent years increasing our net worth dramatically.

The stock market has been high. Gold prices are near all time highs.

There are many great things happening, but...we must also find ways to help move those with assets upwards as well.

We had a bit of an inflationary shock to the system. Prices are up substantially for many things. But this isn't a measure of success. It just means the dollars we have are worth less than before. In a 10% inflation environment, if you aren't getting a 10% raise and you aren't seeing your net worth grow 10%, you are losing to inflation.

And who said the stock market is doing great? Has it been keeping pace with all the Bidenflation?

In order to move people without assets up, you need to instill the value of becoming educated (no, I am NOT talking about higher ed), as well as the benefits of fiscal responsibility.

If they don't possess those two attributes, life is going to be very difficult, especially under this administration.

2007-2010 was a nightmare for me. However, 2021-22 my net worth also skyrocketed.

The best I can do is sock money away when the going is good. And have it ready for when I need it.

Housing wont crash. Nobody is moving who has a 2% rate, and Biden just brought in 30 million illegals into the country in 3 years that also fill up the supply. People are just going to be house/rent poor and have substandard living conditions.

If you say that every day for long enough time, some day you'll be correct.
