Mayor Adams said he wants to save money so despite 2,500 police turning in their badges, he has begun a hiring freeze on hiring more police.

What better way to lower crime than not hiring new police officers. Jury is out on if this will be good for NYC.

You get what you vote for. The people of NYC are going to reap what they've sown.

What's the point of having police if you're not going to enforce the laws? Might as well stop hiring them and let attrition take care of the rest. Think of all the money that will be freed up to take care of people who have no legal right to be here.

NYC hiring freeze exempts positions which impact public safety, public health or are revenue generating positions, per the Oct 1 hiring freeze, unless that rule was modified.

Police are public safety positions and are exempt from the hiring freeze.

Surprised that York in Great Britain has not asked for New York to change their name.

HORK is a great replacement.

Funny how all the movies and books depicting a dystopian future don’t seem so far fetched
