"Text of the Senate Border Bill": Is this the bill that would make it LEGAL to let 4,000 illegal aliens per week into the country, and not shut down the border unless the number of illegals increases even more than that?

That's what past articles have indicated. But the actual text, which was supposed to be released to the public today, still hasn't been released.

Will the Senate REALLY write up a bill that says that the way we'll prevent illegal behavior by the migrants, is to simply make that behavior LEGAL according to the (new) law??? And as regards the illegal aliens who have already entered the country, simply grant them amnesty? In other words, no punishment or consequences for their illegal entry... we'll simply declare their illegal acts, LEGAL by the stroke of the pen?

Still haven't gotten the text of this bill. But please tell me that the bill doesn't do those things, OK? It would be the most ludicrous "law" in the history of this country. "Say it ain't so, Joe!"

Don't we already look like laughingstocks in the eyes of the world? Particularly the countries who don't like us and wouldn't mind seeing us fall on our faces AGAIN?

----------------------------------------

An article from a week ago, hinting about letting illegals in by the thousands:

Key border deal negotiator says bipartisan agreement has been reached, could be ready in the coming days

(snip)

Components of the deal include a new authority that allows the president to shut down the border between ports of entry when unlawful crossings reach high levels, reforming the asylum system to resolve cases in a shorter timeframe, and expediting work permits.

Under the proposed deal, the Department of Homeland Security would be granted new emergency authority to shut down the border if daily average migrants crossing unlawfully reach 4,000 over a one-week span.

There was a leak awhile back that stated that 5,000 a day would have to enter our country before Biden would shut the border down. That's totally unacceptable.

My point exactly.

The number seems to vary with which article you're reading, but that's the gist.

Please tell me that the Senate is NOT writing up a bill that makes such huge crossings of our border, acceptable with no response from our government.

Hopefully we will know the answer(s) within another hour or three.

Closing the border means zero official entries, yes?

It seems like it'll have de jure open borders which is worse than de facto open borders under Biden. I don't know what's taking so long to release the text. They'll probably try to ram this through the Senate without giving everyone enough time to read through and comment on it.

Ask the people who are writing this bill. They seem to be the only ones who know the answer to that question... and a lot of others.

Why are they taking so long to show it to the public?

Something in there they don't want us to see?

https://apnews.com/article/congress-...be1eae8eb1c924 (Just posted on AP this afternoon as an update.)

"The border proposal, which took months to negotiate, is aimed at gaining control of an asylum system that has been overwhelmed by historic numbers of migrants coming to the border. The bill proposes an overhaul to the system with tougher and quicker enforcement measures. If the number of illegal border crossings reaches above 5,000 daily for a five-day average, an expulsion authority would automatically kick in so that migrants are sent back to Mexico without an opportunity to make an asylum claim. If the number reaches 4,000, presidential administrations would have the option of using the expulsion authority."

"The bill would allot $18.5 billion to immigration enforcement, including the hiring of thousands of new officers to evaluate asylum claims, as well as hundreds of Border Patrol agents, according to a person briefed on the package who spoke anonymously to discuss the bill. $1.4 billion of that would go to shelters and services in cities across the U.S. that have struggled to keep up with the influx of migrants in recent months."

There is NOTHING that I have seen addressing actually securing the border, so the 5,000 daily for a five-day average would be "LEGAL" crossing, right? And, the other thousands (yes, thousands) would go under, over and through to get into the US illegally. "Option of using the expulsion authority." It looks like if you are the 5001, you get sent back to Mexico to try again tomorrow?

Biden already has the power to close the border, heck, the National Guard across the country could have it shut down by tomorrow morning!

JUST SAY "NO"! Remember, Trump promises the biggest deportation in the history of our country, and that is the ONLY way we survive the mess that the Biden Administration has put us in! Trump 2024 is the best chance we have to save our country. We all heard the Somalian congress woman and her allegiance to Somalia, well, imagine the 160 countries the millions are coming in from, and congested in areas of different states deciding that (or maybe coming with that in mind in the first place) that their allegiance is not to the USA, but to their country of origin. Send them HOME!
