Biden repealed most of Trump's border controls on Jan 20 2021, but now he claims he "doesn't have authority" to reinstate them?

And therefore, of course, it's all Republicans' fault.

Never mind that the courts have already directed him to reinstate the "remain in Mexico" policy. Suddenly he doesn't have the authority?

Can Biden ‘shut down’ the border right now?

by Rafael Bernal
01/30/24 12:11 PM ET

President Biden is adopting newly hawkish rhetoric on migration, pledging twice over the weekend to “shut down” the border if given the power by bipartisan Senate legislation that is still under negotiation.

Yet both the Biden and Trump administrations put severe restrictions on asylum through Trump-initiated programs including Title 42 and the Migrant Protection Protocols, better known as “remain in Mexico.”

Trump-era border policies largely focused on the idea of bouncing migrants back to Mexico or their home countries, either by summarily expelling them or by initiating their asylum claims but forcing applicants to wait out resolution of their cases outside of U.S. territory.

Always, always blame someone else for what you did in an election year.

Why should he care. Most of Americans are brainwashed to believe this idiot. Example 99% of Students at Harvard who are the smartest in the world will still claim Biden is a great president.

Now that Biden has allowed millions of his new fellow Americans to cross the southern border, he might start slowing it down before the November election.

He simply has to reverse the laws in place that he unraveled during his first day in office.

Surprised no one took one for the team and threw eggs at Biden down there.

But but but, he now claims that he doesn't have the authority to do that.

Republicans blocked his attempt to get written into law, a new bill that would make LEGAL for him to refuse any action on the border until 5,000 or more illegal aliens PER DAY started pouring it. Therefore it's suddenly Republicans' fault he "doesn't have the authority".

I can't understand why normal people would object to that, can you?

This is what infuriates me the most about the Biden clown show.

He tore up every positive thing Trump did for this country on day one and he did it out of spite and without thinking. What was so bad about, Stay in Mexico? Now we have asylum seekers roaming around this country soaking up welfare and they have their hearings in 5 years. 5 YEARS ! I wonder how many would have stayed home if they knew they would be staying in Mexico for 5 years and not just allowed in to wait?

When we go to a concert without a ticket they don't let us in to the show. If we try to sneak in we are thrown out and or arrested. Why do we just let Illegals in?

Biden had the Senate and House for 2 years. Why didn't he try to do something then? No, it is easier to blame the other side and the fools will just follow along and nod their heads all the way to the voting booth.

Trump was getting this crisis under control but Biden and his ILK want this invasion to continue because it is all part of the plan to fundamentally change this country. It is infuriating how so many are blind to this.

Amazing the border patrol can sit there with a straight face while he talks about "climate change?" WTF. . Can't believe someone hasn't backhanded Biden and knocked him completely silly.

I don't blame Biden completely though.. His mind is gone and he is just doing what hes told by the real people running the show. . His wife on the other hand. Should be ashamed. What kind of wife and woman is she to allow this to continue for a 2nd term? Pathetic

He wanted a surge at the border. He got what he wanted. Mission accomplished. I gotta give Biden credits for keeping his words
