Members of a regional women’s country line dance team were reportedly kicked out of a Seattle dance convention after organizers claimed their American flag-themed shirts made some attendees feel "triggered and unsafe."

Over the weekend at the Emerald City Hoedown in Seattle, the Borderline Dance team was set to perform, but were essentially told they weren't welcome by organizer Rain Country Dance Association, an LGBTQ+ dance community, over their matching American flag themed shirts, Jason Rantz reported for 770 KTTH.

"Unfortunately, what our team was met with upon arrival was that our flag tops were offensive to some of the convention goers," the dance group posted to Facebook. "There was a small group that felt ‘triggered and unsafe.'"

American flag as clothing triggers me as tacky and disrespectful of the flag.

LOL. I can remember when conservatives in the 1970s would complain about "long hairs" wearing flags on their denim jackets. And I remember when they came out with American flag bikinis... lots of complaints about that as well. I liked 'em... but a lot of conservatives that they were "distasteful"...

Things have changed.

If triggered by our flag, how mentally ill do they have to be? Pretty far gone. What a bunch of wimps! We MUST open mental institutions again to offer these people a place where they will feel safe! A nice totally white painted stall with padded walls!

If the American flag triggers you then leave the country for one that doesn’t trigger you.

That definitely is a no go. Literally using a flag as opposed to just its colors/design.

And while I agree that doormats or butt towels for example are probably not the best look, kicking them out over being triggered by it is an unnecessary level, imho.

I have nothing against the American flag specifically, but it’s never made much sense to me to feel strong emotions one way or the other over decorated pieces of cloth.

Offense is a tool of tyrant.

Look for the most offended. They are always seeking to bend society into their own image.

Why would anybody who is triggered by the American flag want to live in the United States?

If it were me, I would have left this country a long time ago.
