Just my thoughts

I don't recall saying I was that well off. I invest money so that one day I can be. taxes are taken from my investments because I am "rich." you don't need to be rich to invest, you only need a few bucks a month.

I know that right now I have been paying into the Social Security system my entire working life and will never see a dime of that money. So what. It's all part of the American System. If you are THAT opposed to it, write to your local officials, to your senator, or whoever. Do something to change it or stop your whining.

um, no. they paid for it by growing old. MY problem is with the tax deduction for parents as opposed to those who CHOOSE not to have kids.

This whole premise of the thread really just wreaks of selfishness. Obviously those without children do not recognize how truly important children of this country/ this world truly is... It's not about not having enough to raise your children.. there are those that have children taht probably shouldn't .. becuse they can't buy the basics without gov't asst.. but the majority of us.. can and that tax relief check is just a break. All children born are gifts to everyone in the rest of the world.. for they may do somethign that benefits you down the road..

You dont make any kind of sense.. right now.. my taxes contributing to SS are paying for the generations before us in their retirement.. and by theory my kids will be paying for YOUR retirement as well as mine!
