They're going to try to restrict many common, popular shotguns, based on the infamous "sporting purposes" clause, despite the fact SCOTUS made it clear the second amendment is not restricted to "sporting purposes."
They are all doing it and Congress is not lifting a finger to put any of them in their place.
The Fed just announced that the Treasury will cover them if they go red.
Who gave the Fed the authority to pillage the Treasury ?
And what has Congress said about this ???
Our government's separation of powers and authority is being dismantled right before our eyes.

"The American people will never knowingly adopt socialism. But, under the name of 'liberalism,' they will adopt every fragment of the socialist program, until one day America will be a socialist nation, without knowing how it happened."

Congress needs to stop these clowns.(ATF) Congress has the ability to pull funding or money to stop them from making policy without consent of congress. The EPA and others need to be controlled this way as well. ATF is AUTHORISED to restore gun rights to the citizens of this country, yet for some strange reason they dont do that. Who the heck is stopping the funding for that?

Yip we need to put our feet down and say enough is enough.

I read the whole report and didn't come away with that conclusion. Consensus among rational gun owners on many gun forums is that the Saiga conforms to the "sporting clause" in all respects. It is imported with a fixed stock and a 5 rd magazine. BATFE may be ready to ban the future sales of aftermarket parts such as drums, hi-cap mags, flash hiders and folding stocks for shotguns, so I would expect that it may be smart to buy the parts while you can. My Saiga has all of the "evil features" they discuss in the report in addition to having a barrel length of only 8". So I'm on the edge as to their ultimate decision. What the report did more clearly define was the difference between sporting and law enforcement use and their conclusions I disagree with as Home defense is a very important aspect of shotgun ownership and they don't take that into consideration at all.
Did you pay the special tax for a "restricted" weapon for what appears to be a sawed off shotgun? I agree with your choice as there is no better defensive weapon than a short bbl shotgun. IMHO the Congress should repeal the 1934 Federal Firearms Law as well as any other they or the BATF have created.
I hope this doesn't drive the prices of the Saiga 12 up too high, they are already inflated quite a bit just cause i am in California. I'd really like to get one.
