The "UN declaration of human rights" article 1 and 3 is a copy of our own "Declaration of Independence" but they removed the concept of a "Creator".


"UN declaration of human rights"
Article 1
All human beings are born free and equal in dignity and rights. They are endowed with reason and conscience and should act towards one another in a spirit of brotherhood.

Article 3
Everyone has the right to life, liberty, and security of person.

"Declaration of Independence"
We hold these truths to be self-evident, that all men are created equal, that they are endowed by their Creator with certain unalienable Rights, that among these are Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.


This is the most profound difference between the two documents.

there are lots of differences between our Constitution and the UN's declaration of rights. remember with the UN rights, they are not natural and only upon the sayso of each goverment.

Having just watched CNN's presents 'Cry Murder' hosted by Christiane Amanpour, I cannot imgine why the UN exists at all. They (and we, under Clinton) ignored the genocide in Rwanda. The UNs own general begged for more troops in order to, if not stop the genocide then at least be able to rescue as many people as possible. The UN - including the US - voted no and actually reduced the number of UN troops in Rwanda. They did the same thing in Darfur.
I would rather have the constitution as the UNs declaration of human rights is worthless.

I know there are lots of differences.

The concept of natural rights is rooted in the belief of a creator. Without a belief in a creator, human rights woulds be on par with rights of animals or even a tree.

This is a profound difference.

What possible benefit would it be to America to adopt this declaration of rights?

Many would disagree with the big government provisions in the list. But it certainly fits the UN agenda.
