I see a lot of tolerance but not enough love. People want to offend equally, not treat people with equal respect.

Is there too much of an obsession with equality alone, and not enough of a want for all people to not only be equal, but to be loved?

First, your premise of "tolerance" implies feelings of superiority and allowing others to be different. As if you could control them. If, indeed, these are feelings you have (I am not saying that they are, merely making an observation) there will never be any "love" shown.

Second, unless you live in a glass bubble, you should realize that some people just are not lovable.

Equality is a fine concept but life is not equal for all.

From the few posts of yours that I've read Mimzy, the first place you need to look is in the mirror.

...sometimes love is blunt.

I think live and let live is a better thing to focus on that "tolerance". Loving everyone is very hard, but an admirable thing to do. You have to be able to seperate the issues from the person, which I am trying to do more and more, as it does make caring for people much easier.

Tolerance is thinking all people (or more accurately, all groups of people) are equal. I think it's useless if you don't have a respect for people in general. Like I couldn't care how tolerant you are if you hate everyone.
