No white-washing here. The fact is, if the Africans had routed the Europeans when they first arrived, instead of warring against each others' tribes, history would have been MARKEDLY different.
But hey, blaming everybody else is SO much more enjoyable.
Um African Tribes did fight against the Europeans. We all know what happens when the Europeans come to town,; rape, murder, stealing of land and gold. I guess it isn't all bad they could've done to the blacks what they did to the Native Americans and Mayans.

So there was peace in Africa before the Europeans got there?
I was thinking about this and had a few questions, so feel free to give your 2 cents.
From an outside point of view, it can sometimes seem strange that in the US, black people are referred to as African American.
What's wrong with someone being described as just black? Especially since black people can come from any number of countries, not all of which are found in Africa. If an aboriginal person from Australia went to live in the US or had children there, I'm sure they'd be referred to as African American, even though they have no links to Africa whatsoever.
I mean, I've overhead Americans in London becoming confused, because they suddenly realised that they couldn't call a black Londoner 'African American' because... he was black, but neither African, nor American.
Conversely - there are also many people in Africa who are white, or another race, or colour. If these people went to live in the USA and had kids there, don't they have the right to call themselves as African American?
I guess my (rambling) point is that it just seems to me that African should be used to denote nationality (or rather, your nationality is from that continent) and not race.
I'm white. My ancesters came to America from Europe. Can I be an European-American? I like how that sounds.
Surely more peaceful than the time of their arrival and every point thereafter.
Yeah, sure. I guess if you're just going to make it up as you go, Africa was PERFECT before the arrival of those evil white folks. And every problem there, for the past 500+ years, has been wholly the fault of said evil white folks.
Who cares? If a person wants to be called African-American, that is their prerogative... I usually just call them "Black," and that has never offended anyone, so I don't even think they care. But if I were corrected and asked to use African-American, that doesn't bother me either. I work in a heavily African-American neighborhood, and generally use that term for the purpose of being professional. But when I'm referring to my Black brother or friends, it's just too clunky to use A.A. This is mostly for census purposes anyway, and I don't think the average person is too concerned.
As for myself, I am a Ukrainian-Polish-Jewish-American, and you can call me any or all of that.

I never said Africa was perfect; I said was Africa was more peaceful. You didn't have the evils of money, politics, corruption, GENOCIDE, and weapons. My goal isn't to place all the blame of whites, but surely you must see the impact that had on Africa, Native Americans, Middle East, and South America. Hell they even caused two world wars.

The bottom line is that there has NEVER been peace at ANY TIME during the entire history of the world.
You can blame whoever you want. Everyone is guilty.
