Former President Gerald Ford said it best during his inaugural address. Our long national nightmare is over. When I look back at the last 8 years, I'm truly at a loss to see what Bush really accomplished. I'm sure his defenders will say he kept America safe. We didn't have another 9/11, therefore he did a good job protecting us from terrorists. The problem with that argument is that we have no way of knowing whether anything would've happened without him in charge. His defenders will also say that he got rid of Saddam Hussein and brought about democratic elections in Iraq. But it's hard to look at Iraq now and claim it's better. And if you ask Iraqis, I'll bet a lot of them will say it's a whole lot worse.

No, we are just starting to see the bad effects of 8 years of serious mis-management of this country. The good thing is - it wont continue to get worse.

i would not consider myself democrat, or rebublican. i'm more middle of the road. i also am not sure if obama will turn the country around or not, but there is nothing that has happened in the last eight years that bodes well for president bush. i'm assuming you are a republican because of your post. putting all parties aside, do you honestly believe bush did a good job as president?

No, you didn't. And that guy attacking you never said what America needs saved from. Is Obama going to save America? I don't know, but I think he was a hell a lot better than that old man and crazy religious nut. However, just admitting that America needs saved shows us how messed up the Bush administration was.
