Not that it matters but i'm 37. If my husband was just recently the president or if i'm at all in politics;guess what---you watch the damn state of the union!
Obviously a GOP supporter!
Well knowing Laura like I do, She is such a Beautiful person who never wants to say anything bad about even the worst of her husbands enemies. She understood that it was going to be a whole lot of the same ol same ol and it would be regurgitated a thousand times over adnauseum by the fawning media. A woman of her intelligence (she is a Librarian you know?) does not need to waste her valuable time listening to the first black president crowing about how great he is compared to her husband!

While I disagree with your partisan spin, I have to agree with the sentiment. Why would any wife bother listening to someone who was likely going say everything her husband did in the past 8 years was illegal, immoral or just plain stupid? You'd have to be a masochist to subject yourself to that....unless, of course, you agreed with the speaker (not to imply the Laura Bush did...just thinking of some of the marriages I know....)
Or the fact she just spent eight long years dealing with all of the political baggage that comes with being first lady and just wanted a break. I fault no former first lady, regardless of party, for saying I just want some time away from politics and just relax. It's tough to be President, but I don't think it's all that easy being his wife.
I am surely not a supporter of the GOP but to accuse Laura Bush of not caring about the country because she missed a political speech is just ludicrious. I suspect that she, more than most, knows just how little stock you can put in what politicians say publically.
Location: I currently exist only in a state of mind. one too complex for geographic location.

who cares what obama has to say? I have never wasted time watching political grandstanding.
So some one brought this STUPID thread back and now we have even more moronic posts in it. Awesome.
a cleverly crafted trick (no doubt conceived by the obama administration) to draw in the stupid and moronic...unlike the current economic policies...seems to be working!!!!!!!
