Not sure what right-wing rag you get your history from, but in fact Governor Dean was elected head of the DNC in 2005 and served a full four-year term during which time he led the party to two smashing victories. (It's no surprise you want to forget all about that ) I see him on tv all the time, although not nearly as much as I would like.
He'd probably do a great job as Surgeon General, just as he did as head of the DNC and Governor of Vermont.
And the scream? It wasn't much of a scream to begin with. It certainly wasn't Roger Daltrey caliber.

The guy is definitely a bit quirky but Dean is cool.He would make a good one because his state (Vermont) was doing great with medical coverage issues with him behind the wheel.
