A middle school student parent thinks that this was being done when his daughter had to study about how much better Sharia prescribed dress would be than the school uniforms kids have to wear in the school. I agree with the dad but some here won't.

I suppose if they only discussed the negative aspects, that would be OK with you?

What if a repressive Christian group was touted for their standard of dress for women?

Never happen.

The parent didn't state that he thought that the school was teaching Sharia law. From the original article in the Marietta Daily Journal (I am local to the area and don't really trust Blaze as an accurate souce)

Quote:
MARIETTA – Campbell Middle School has adjusted its curriculum on the Middle East after a parent complained that material provided for one assignment “positively slants towards Islam.” The creator of the materials, though, said she doesn’t understand the objection.

The original article also went on to say

Quote:
All public middle school students in Georgia spend 12 weeks learning about the Middle East, and that includes religions in that region, including the dominant Islam, she said.

To me it seemed like he was making a big deal about the assignment because it did not condemn Islam. He also chose to make a big deal about it by going to the media after his concerns were heard and the methods of teaching were changed to suit his needs so he is just a media wh ore IMO.

Another typical ignorant conservative father who listens to right-wing media instead of researching the subject imself and actually talking to the teacher to find out what is being taught.

Anyhow, we can all read the article and see that this was not some attempt to push Sharia law, but was part of a lesson in stereotyping.

Ironically the complaining parent more or less proved the necessity of such a lesson, but his type aren't known for their appreciation of irony.

Do you mean like how hard it would be to run with their kind of clothes and how much is taken from men from not being able to see the female form?

That would certainly be against the law since liberals are so excited about separation of church and state where Christians are concerned.

Do you know how hard it is to run with skirts and/or heels? It's not like feminine fashion has ever been conceived to be comfortable or do the woman a favour...
