Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin has angered lawmakers in her state -- Democratic and Republican -- for rejecting federal stimulus funds. This week, legislators announced that they would most likely go around the governor to get the money, while Palin aides backtracked and claimed she never refused the funds in the first place. Now the governor has backed out of a meeting with legislative critics that was meant to negotiate the conflict.
"We had a meeting scheduled with the governor today and her legislative liaison told us that she wasn't there and that we could meet with the staff," Gary Stevens, the state's Republican Senate President, said at a press conference Thursday. "We're here, we're available, and unfortunately she is not."
Her rejection of a portion of the stimulus funds was actually a positive sign that she was starting to act like a conservative again. However, the recent back-tracking and double talk now coming out is pretty typical, and one of the reasons I dislike her style of Governing. Her propensity to continuously change her story gets her in trouble. It's what turned the whole Walt Monegan/Troopergate issue into such a controversy, and really burned allot of bridges with the rest of the State Legislature.
Palin "skipping and confused" over what was said and not said? when? time? etc?? where ---hmmm thank goodness not running America---Palin could not keep the pace that republicans cannot keep up with Pres Obama...what do we expect same old same old republicans??--twist and spin--
This is such pressing news with all going on around us.
Yep, yep indeedy... Thankgoodness we have a President who can multi-task. You know, walk and chew gum at the same time. By now Bush would have made his second trip for those 10 day stints down in Crawford. What a croc...
Pointless, because news about Palin are as stupid as news about Michael Jackson.
The big difference is Palin is a political figure and Michael Jackson is not. So with that being said unless you voted for Michael Jackson than he is not relevant to this thread, right?

I think MW is being overly polite by using this turn of phrase to describe Palin's lies? And for the record we already knew that she's a liar:
Lied about the bridge to nowhere.
Lied about the firing of the police chief and librarian.
Lied about her former statements on global warming.
Lied about pressuring the head of the Public Safety Department to fire her ex brother in law. Then when the ethics report came out she lied and said it vindicated her!
Lied about her alleged tolerance of homosexuality.
Lied about when she told her daughter about being asked to join the McCain ticket.
Lied about AK's contribution to US oil and gas production.
Lied about the actual progress on the gas pipeline.
Lied about Obama's stand on habeus corpus.
Lied about her pay cut as Mayor of Wasilla
Lied about her use of the teleprompter at the RNC.
Lied about what the state's scientists said about the health of the polar bear population.
So we pretty much know this woman will and has lied about just about anything. This is why we wonder about the posters on here who claim to be for "truth, justice and the American way.
