Default Right Wing Reality Check: Majority of Americans Have Confidence in Obama/Dem Leaders...GOP Not So Much

I'm a good example of what's happening to the GOP.

I voted for every Republican president from Nixon forward until 2004.

I've voted Democratic once.

I'll more than likely vote Democratic for all remaining elections.

The GOP has morphed into a stupid, ugly caricature of "conservatism" that I want no part of. They've demonstrated that they can't be trusted to govern. They show little concern for the national interest. They're too busy snuggling up to corporate interests.

Yep the Goldwater conservatives have almost died off. Pat Buchanan is still around, Jack Kemp..etc. I would imagine most all of them are Independents who vote like a Conservative Democrat would. The GOP has been taken over by the evangelicals and authoritarians. As a liberal I would welcome true Conservatives back with open arms compared to these pretenders they have in there now.....At true Conservative has respect for the Rule of Law and the Constitution as it applies to everyone and in every case....Not just "gun rights".

But here's the deal.

1) Most Americans favor gun regulation
2) Most Ameicans favor abortion rights
3) Most Americans want the social programs we have in place now
4) Most Americans favor gay rights.
5) Most Americans resent your slurs of Democrats calling them "commies" and "socialists".

So get this through your head. You are in a permanent minority.

The country has passed you by. You will never see in your lifetime a move toward your position.

Posters keep lumping people attending the Tea Parties into the "Right Wing" - oh well, as long as detractors keep advertising the Tea Parties by slamming posts or whatever - that is cool - keep it up.

Anyhow.....

The poll of 1,000 registered voters says:

Quote:
Of those who said they trust the president, 31 percent said they trust him “a great deal.” An additional 35 percent said they have “some” trust that Obama will find the correct solution. Thirty-one percent said they trust Obama either “not very much” or “not at all.” Poll: Obama earns nation's trust (http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20090414/pl_politico/21213;_ylt=AoCKvxY3_L2n7pRfFcx5dFwuQE4F;_ylu=X3oDM TJlNDEyOTIwBGFzc2V0A3BvbGl0aWNvLzIwMDkwNDE0LzIxMjE zBGNwb3MDMwRwb3MDMwRzZWMDeW5fdG9wX3N0b3JpZXMEc2xrA 3BvbGxvYmFtYWVhcg - broken link)--
is that the same as...

Quote:
with two-thirds of respondents saying they trust the president “to identify the right solutions to the problems we face as a nation.” Poll: Obama earns nation's trust (http://news.yahoo.com/s/politico/20090414/pl_politico/21213;_ylt=AoCKvxY3_L2n7pRfFcx5dFwuQE4F;_ylu=X3oDM TJlNDEyOTIwBGFzc2V0A3BvbGl0aWNvLzIwMDkwNDE0LzIxMjE zBGNwb3MDMwRwb3MDMwRzZWMDeW5fdG9wX3N0b3JpZXMEc2xrA 3BvbGxvYmFtYWVhcg - broken link)--
Wonder if McCain had won would the headlines be "2/3 trust President" or would they be "Citizens have no trust in President - only 1/3 trust him".

Posters keep lumping people attending the Tea Parties into the "Right Wing"

I don't know who you are trying to fool.

I posted plenty of evidence it's a right wing ploy.

1) Started and organized by two right wing think tanks run by Dick Armey and a lobbyist Partner of Ralph Reed.
2) Hyped by Fox News over the last few weeks (before the events took place)
3) Attended by GOP politicians all over the country
4) Attended by right wing, AM talk radio personalities all over the country.
5) My local "tea party" was paid for by a local county Republican Organization.

Of course it's right wing...71% of Americans approve of the job Obama is doing on the economy.....it's only Palin fans and Bush's old political base that is whining and crying.
