There was an investigative report by a man named Helgerson (sp?) on the interrogation techniques back in 2004. According to several sources in his report there were accounts of terrorists being killed during interrogations. Evidently Vice President was instrumental in quashing the report. I know you wouldn't want to search the NYT, but google can probably dig us some sources for you.

Waterboarding is really a method of annoying someone to the point that they give up. It isn't friendy and nice, it isn't considerate of the subject's feelings, but it isn't mutilation, it isn't electrocution, it isn't murder and it isn't rape. It is saying, "we can subject you to extreme discomfort indefinitely without killing or injuring you and your voluntary debriefing is an eventuality, not a possibility."

This is a humane interrogation technique and Khalid Sheik Mohammed perceived justice very acutely 183 times in one month.
Humane interrogation technique? Suffocation is humane? Because that's essentially what's involved. Even the DOJ memos on how to safely perform waterboarding explicitly state that it is suffocation that raises CO2 levels in the bloodstream leading the person to fight even harder for oxygen as it is being denied. And the memos that were released this weak also explicitly state that the interrogations sometimes exceeded the parameters established by the DOJ as acceptable. Nope, definitely not friendly.

Bad people do need persuasion and after witnessing the events of 9-11 personally those thugs deserved much worse for murdering our wives, husbands, children, and above all-innocent American citizens!

Many? How many? Percentage-wise, that would be instructive. "Many" is so vague.

They might have achieved the same results by simply housing these terrorists in a cage with friendly pot bellied pigs. LOL Muslems can not bear the thought of being touched by a pig. It would have been an interesting experiment and not at all harmful to the person involved.

CIA-sourced info. Who can believe this? "Do you ask your barber whether you need a haircut?"

Do you generally consider simulated drowning to be "uncomfortable"?

Exactly when does "uncomfortable" and "panic-inducing" share the same status?
A 166 times apparently and these animals talked. Real torture they would have said anything and most likely would have died from hanging from hooks or bled to death from their wound from real and traditional torture, not this soft glove approach that nets results in weeks or months. What in the hell do you expect the CIA to do with these murderers, ask them politely what they know? Offer them a room at the Hilton and offer them a top law firm for defense? Many posters on this thread are either ignorant or hate the US. Also, if the US gets hit again and one of your family members are hurt you'll be raising hell about it. But apparently these future terrorist will have the best taxpayer paid law firms representing them creating a circus environment that was witnessed by the American public of one thug who went on trial in Alexandria, VA Federal courthouse soon after 9-11.

Can you please explain why we've prosecuted and convicted people for waterboarding detainees since 1901? Still waiting.
