Because noticing gang violence obviously shows racist tendencies..... I'm not sure why you would jump to race. Is there something about those places we should know? Or would it be something politically incorrect for you to point out?
I go fishing a fair amount and have never found myself on a tanker holding hostages with a machine gun. Maybe I'm doing it wrong; these guys get millions and I'm left with just a few fish.

EUROPEAN WORKERS that fish for seafoods have EXHAUSTED their fishing grounds in their OCEANS. So they have come to the SOMALIA seas, TO LOOT those fishermen from SOMALIA of their sea food supplies. THAT IS WHAT IT IS ALL ABOUT.============================================ == More than $30 MILLION DOLLARS worth of sea foods is being STOLEN from the FISHERMEN of SOMALIA ( the so called PIRATES are the EUROPEAN FISHERMEN. their are stealing someone elses seafood supplies. Every year... but they cn go and lie about the MEN the fishermen of SOMALIA who are ONLY TRYING TO KEEP THE PIRATES of EUROPE and other countres from stealing from them, with their little MOTOR BOATS. THIS IS AN OUTRAGE!!! These fishermen of SONALIA ARE STARVING!!======================================== ==I read that 12 NATIONS from USA to CHINA are going to SONALIA and declaring a NEW WAR? A WAR FOR WHAT? TO STEAL THEIR SEA FOOD SUPPLIES. MORE NEWS in a MINUTE.
1) There are pirates around the world. It is a global problem.
2) The pirates of somalia are stealing shipments of weapons and humanitarian supplies, not "seafood supplies"
3) Some of our fishermen are dealing with hard times too. It hasn't made them into thieves and murderers.

1) Somalia is the recipient of human aid from the US, Europe and others.
2) Much of the aid doesn't get to the needy people because of the armed gangs.
3) In spite of being poor, almost everyone in Somalia, including 8 year old kids carry arms. Somalia exercises our second amendment better then the US. It is a dream come true for many Americans.
4) Like gangs in many cities of the US, young somali find in piracy a great occupation and a source of social bonding. They are bored and sizing foreign vessels cargo is a way to amuse themselves while making a buck or two.

Your rant in an effort to explain why the Somali fishermen have become pirates. The bottom line is that they are Pirates. Having a good reason to pirate does not mean they are not pirates. Also, for some reason they have all forgotten to mention anything about why they are pirating. People like you are the ones claiming they may have a legitimate reason. Apparently somebody forgot to tell them what their reasons are.
