Would someone please define "torture" and explain what IS acceptable for interrogating terrorists rather than what is not? Be specific.

His age is irrelevant. Breathing isn't any more optional for a Navy Seal, Green Beret, Delta Force, SAS, Spetznaz, or any other alphabet soup special force tough guy as it is even for a "boozer" like Hitchens. May I remind folks that Hitchens was pro-war with regards to Iraq.

Hitchens is a conservative; IMHO he wouldn't have offered to be waterboarded had he thought it was painful or terrifying. Torture doesn't need to involve pain; think of Chinese water torture.

So he'd volunteer to waterboard Cheney, would he also volunteer his service over in Iraq or Afghanistan? Would he volunteer his services at GITMO? Big talk coming from a washed up circus freak. I'm no fan of Cheney, for all I care they can drown him in a barrel of the finest champagne that he's been sipping while making his friends rich with this ongoing war.

Funny how someone like Jesse comes out with blunt truth, and the chicken hawk crowd can't refute anything he says so they revert to childish name calling.
