Obama has nothing at all to do with local ad valorem tax rates, your city and county commissioners are the ones who control local property taxes.

Exactly. Local taxes are not determined on a federal level.

Guntersville Boomer is completely right, it is ludicrous to blame Obama for decisions that are made locally in Pasco County.

Remind me who was president when all this economic mess happened? Who let these ultra liberal loan policies damage this country? Who allowed unregulated profits for banks? Was it "socialist" (as you call him) Obama?

Let me remind you who was the most unpopular president in modern American history: Poll: More disapprove of Bush than any other president - CNN.com
That was a year ago, May 2008.

No but Obama's friends Chris Dodd, Barney Frank all new about the housing mess at Freddie and Fanny and decided not do anything...they are all in the government and this is a result of it.

Obama could have lowered taxes so more people can buy and have money available. Right now everything is going up. Utility bill are going to be up a lot, HO insurance up to 20% or maybe higher, groceries are more expensive, gas is going up again.....this is just one thing and Obama and friends can't tax the country out of the debt he is creating!

The whole property tax payments aren't fair. Why do people who own a home have to pay for other people children to go to school? Even if they don't have children or have to pay for private schools they still pay for others to go to school. Why not raise sales tax so everybody can pay for it and who is buying the most is paying the most, wouldn't that be more fair!

People who are still in their homes and not paying mortgages, property taxes, HOA fees are still living for free while others have to pick up the bill while they never in the first place could afford the mortgages they signed....this is just wrong!

ever played the game six degrees of separation of Kevin Bacon? Your latest post reminds me of it after you found out about the tax situation. My point is anyone can basically be linked to anyone else; if you're going to bash the guy just make a topic that says "Obama is a socialist" and cut to the chase.

So when do we get to start paying taxes at that lower rate? Some of us would like that.

You will have to forgive me for not thinking it is true that my taxes will be lowered.
