The question was cut off. It should read "Choose the option that describes your party, your vote, and whether you approve or disapprove of Obama's performance thus far."

Whether you are a Democrat or Republican is determined by your registration or, for those who live in states with no registration, the party that typically gets your vote. Approval or disapproval is meant to be general. You don't have to like every single thing he's done to "approve," nor do you have to hate every single thing he's done to "disapprove."

I'm also interested to hear the reasons why Republicans voted for Obama and the reasons why some Democrats may not have. Another reason for this poll is to get a more clear percentage of Obama's approval rating among the regular posters on this board.

I understand that. If you're an Independent, call yourself a Repub or Dem based on the party that gets the highest percentage of your votes - even if you frequently vote for Independent candidates, surely you sometimes vote for Repubs or Dems.

its not all black&white. Im an independent who voted for him and I don't approve nor disapprove. He's ok, I liked many social decisions and some foreign policy changes, but I'm mixed on the rest.

I'm aware that there are many shades of gray. Unfortunately, polls have to be somewhat general in nature unless there are 50+ choices.

I'm an Independent who did not vote for Obama. I disapprove thus far. In fact hussein obama is the first president I can say I have a true hatred for. He has made it clear he has no loyality to America.

I'm a conservative that did not vote for Nobama.

Am I disappointed that the Republicans lost the election? No, not even a little bit.

Every time the GOP puts on a liberal leaning canidate, they lose.

What disappoints me is that Nobama is following nearly the very same path the GWB did on many of the issues. (patriot act, gitmo, war in Iraq/Afganistan, bailouts to name just a few)
