I thought our officials talked about having a watchful eye over the stimulus funds. Like that stupid website telling us where the money is going. It is getting wasted anyway... what a shocker.
2 reasons: 1) It is not telling us where the money is going it tells us what it is intended for.
2) Even while telling us what it is intended for it is a bit too general for me. I want specifics. I would go as far to say that my congressmen have no idea where the money is going either.
It was a stimulus. Not a long-term commitment of fed funds. It was supposed to buy the city time to pull itself together if nothing else. Not Obama's fault if the city couldnt manage even with that stimulus and good will.

If you can't see that this was nothing more than Obama grandstanding by using a few police recruits to make himself look good, then i'd say you're the atypical Obama-voter that has been fleeced once again. Are you really that naive? The day Obama stood there proclaiming his excellency for "saving" 25 recruits' jobs, the logical folks in America were shaking their heads in disbelief that the President would be so superficial as to fly to a small town to proclaim he's there to save them. Was this grandstanding really not obvious to you?
Regarding your assinine AFO remark: No Obama shouldn't have hitch-hiked. Obama should have stayed in Washington and avoided taking the trip altogether because it is very clear that his only agenda was to toot his own horn. He could have made sure that small police force had the funds to maintain behind the scenes. Instead, he decided to revel in the limelight. Obama is a narcissist. It's mind-numbing the sheer number of people who can't see past all the fluff.

You have to understand, this was from the Democratic playbook. President Clinton was famous for it. Fly to a small city to make media attention objecting to burning churches "for the blacks", while sending the military into Waco Texas and contributing to to deaths of how many citizens?

Oh come on be honest that was all photo op. You must really think Americans are so stupid that we needed him to explain to us just what this stimulus bill was suppose to do. That we need a visual aid of him showing us. Stimulus bill = 25 police jobs
He did that for a photo op and nothing more to get approval and support for that massive spending bill.
