ARLINGTON, Texas, May 29 (UPI) -- A Texas woman attending a baseball game between the Texas Rangers and the New York Yankees said she was asked to turn her "Yankees Suck" T-shirt inside out.
Kristen Knapp-Webb of Carrollton said she went to the game Tuesday in Arlington with her husband, Walter, to celebrate their 19th wedding anniversary and she wore the T-shirt, which was an anniversary gift from Walter, The Dallas Morning News reported Friday.
Funny that a Ranger fan cant have a shirt on that says suck, but pretty much every Yankees fan says or acts far worse. Guess when you spend hundreds of millions of dollars every year for a team to lose you get a little touchy about the truth.
You're in Kentucky, yes? How would you know so much about so many Yankees fans? Don't give me sweeping generalizations. Just because you've met a few people who you thought were poorly behaved does not mean "pretty much every Yankees fan" does or says anything.
Don't apply the spending money argument to every single thing you don't like about the team, either. You're talking about shirts, for crying out loud.
Lastly, Yankee Stadium has a policy that one cannot wear items that say any team sucks. Fans are expected to be respectful, and most are.
"Suck" is not family friendly IMO although I can agree with the sentiment. I heard this woman on the local radio and she took this way too far - seems like a shrew to me.
I don't know why this is even considered news. A talk radio host gave it way too much attention on Friday and now this...... I guess this is news to the same type of people who followed the OJ trial......
