Air America used to have a funny bit where they'd play a recording of a screeching, whining fax machine and then they'd say something like "Okay! Today's liberal marching orders are coming in from Streisand Command in Hollywood!"
Obama is just the latest in a long line of statist presidents, not especially more or especially less "capitalist" than the others.
Call our economy capitalist if you want, but we haven't had anything that passes for a free market in a very long time. Obama is not radically changing the system we've had for the last century, he's giving it a bit of shock therapy.

But not just for fun. He's trying to keep it alive.
Some of you need to get out your dictionary. I'll save you the trouble.
From dictionary.com:
capitalist: an advocate of capitalism
capitalism: an economic system in which investment in and ownership of the means of production, distribution, and exchange of wealth is made and maintained chiefly by private individuals or corporations, esp. as contrasted to cooperatively or state-owned means of wealth.
Now, take a look at the three definitions of socialism, but pay special attention to the last:
1. a theory or system of social organization that advocates the vesting of the ownership and control of the means of production and distribution, of capital, land, etc., in the community as a whole.
2. procedure or practice in accordance with this theory.
3. (in Marxist theory) the stage following capitalism in the transition of a society to communism, characterized by the imperfect implementation of collectivist principles.
Read it and weep. Better yet, become informed, and voice your opinions!
Here is another interesting definition from dictionary.com:
Marx⋅ism /ˈmɑrksɪzəm/ Show Spelled Pronunciation [mahrk-siz-uhm] Show IPA –noun the system of economic and political thought developed by Karl Marx, along with Friedrich Engels, esp. the doctrine that the state throughout history has been a device for the exploitation of the masses by a dominant class, that class struggle has been the main agency of historical change, and that the capitalist system, containing from the first the seeds of its own decay, will inevitably, after the period of the dictatorship of the proletariat, be superseded by a socialist order and a classless society.
Hmmm . . . What this I hear about spreading the wealth? (Is it unreasonable to believe that he is inferring that Capitalism is bad?)
It's very obvious that a lot of people are mistaking capitalism for corporatism. When I think of capitalism, I think of true laissez-faire capitalism – the free exchange of goods and services without the force of government involved.
Come on folks. He said that he wanted to spread the wealth around in an unguarded moment. The wealth he wants to spread comes from the productive members of society and goes to the unproductive members of society. He wants everyone to be equal. Of course he's a socialist. Geez! He said so!

So a 4.5% tax hike on the rich is socialism? They've been crying that since income taxes were introduced. You're certainly well trained.
"in an unguarded moment," lol. Did you ever watch the full five-minute meet with St. Joe?
