I just put up this poll because I see so many stupid polls against Rep. and heir values just because a few people messed up in their private life and are treated so different than Dem. who are doing exactly the same or worse....
Look at what Clinton did as president....The Kennedy family and all their issues with addictions, etc.. How Sanford is treated....I know it is discusting what he did and IMO it isn't more or less than what Clinton did and all other people...but to start calling him on National tv...a gay hater because he voted against gay marriage goes to far...
Putting his personal emails on the internet and on tv is way out of line...think about his kids and who is the person who violated his privacy....Have him resign or fire him but don't milk out every email...he admitted what he did, he didn't come out and didn't say what Clinton said "I did not have sex with that woman!"....wow we allknow what happened in the oval office!

Why you put it up doesn't matter so much as that you contributed to the craziness but moving on from that.
What Sanford did is more than what Clinton did. Much more. As a governor you do Not leave your post for six days in the way he did. Any person in any job where they worked for someone else would most likely be fired for that. I don't care who he's diddling because the affair just makes for juicy tidbits as far as the world is concerned, it is not however the real reason he needs to step back, imo.
As for the emails what really needs to be asked is how the State paper got hold of them. And shockingly enough, they've had the emails since December. In that regard they did respect either his privacy or his position. That any paper sat on them for that long blows my mind. Then the question is where did he send the emails from? If he sent them from his state email addy then they are fair game to be published. If from home that is a different matter but I suspect they weren't all sent from a nonwork address.
I agree about not publishing them for the sake of the children. But on the other hand, why should outsiders who's job it is to sale papers worry about his children when HE isn't? If he was he wouldn't have done what he did in the first place and he dang sure wouldn't have disappeared on Father's Day, would he?

Actually, I see this more from the Republican or conservative side. State a position even slightly left of conservative and you are labeled as 'socialist' or 'communist' or called 'stupid', 'ignorant' and many more ridiculous names. That's one of the many reasons I avoid most of the political threads on this forum and why I have completely stopped posting in a couple of other forums.
Perhaps for the same reason most Republicans put them in a box?

Agree with both of the above. Just last night a very prolific conservative made a statement that liberals aren't "decent". Not some liberals, mind you, which is true, as it is of conservatives, but "liberals", as in all liberals. (Not you bentlebee)
