You are way off base here and need to rethink your liberalism!!!
Remember Obama is out to destroy the USA. Enough said of the topic!

They keep changing it. Now it's a picnic. It's not in Denver. Here is it, 8 days from July 4, and they still don't have all the details.

America's Godly Heritage: July 4th Tea Party Update

The July 4, 2009 Tea Party is moving from the Capital Building to a public park in Arvada.
The format is also changed from a one hour event to an all afternoon into the evening Independence Day celebration (bring your own picnic basket).

Without the semantic bastardizations of "conservative" and "liberal" as we understand them today, Jefferson was quite a liberal fellow for his day.

The very idea that people could live without a government standing over them every step they take was liberal in the 18th century.

So I asked him a few basic questions regarding globalization and why the sudden onset of concern regarding our monetary policy. Having beaten the streets to get ballot access for the Libertarians in 2000 and 2004, and having been maced at protests I have to say that most teapartiers are pretty weak and uninformed.

Where were you in 99 when the riots were ripping across Seattle from the WTO?
Oh yeah that was just dirty hippies right?

How many have protested the IMF?

What exactly are you protesting on July 4th? Are you willing to stand up to police officers in riot gear if they show up?
OK I agree they were just a bunch of dirty hippies.

The police do not have to show up in riot gear because unlike liberals, conservatives still retain their self respect, dignity and do not behave like animals in the streets.

[Wet Blanket Flag On]

Though good hearted and concerned Americans wish to petition the government for redress of grievance, via a protest on the anniversary of the Declaration of Independence, it is for naught.

Why?

The so-called abuses imposed by the Congress are all voluntary. You just don't know how and when you volunteered.

Remember, involuntary servitude is unconstitutional, but VOLUNTARY SERVITUDE is perfectly legal and proper.

I had my first inkling of the problem, when I learned I was a slave (via national socialism). At first, I was angry at government. Later, after reading the law - carefully - I realized that I was at fault. I had volunteered to be subject to and object of the myriad laws, rules, and regulations created under the authority of FICA / Social Security Act of 1935.

1. There is no law compelling one to participate.
2. There is no law punishing one who does not participate.
3. It is 100% voluntary.

(Yes, I realize that the majority of Americans BELIEVE that they must first enroll before they can work in their own country. But prove me wrong - write a polite letter to your congresscritter and senators, asking them for a copy of the law that requires ALL AMERICANS (not just U.S. citizens) to enroll before they can legally work in the United States of America {use the full name, not U.S.}. For more giggles, write to the SocSec Administrator in Baltimore, MD, and ask the same question. Better yet, ask for the official procedure to LEAVE voluntary socialist insecurity. They will not answer. Is that "Hotel California" playing in the background?)

For the sake of a thought experiment, assume that you believe me. And consider that 99.9% of the power of Congress is derived through consent - via your signature on the application for an account and number. And consider the ramifications if 51% of the American people decide to STOP VOLUNTEERING. (On the grounds that fraud and / or constructive fraud was used to induce your signature - and that you renounce all benefits associated with participation.)

The remaining 49%, of which the majority will be the entitled masses enjoying their socialist benefits, the officers "in' government, as well as the administrative bureaucracy whose careers depends on those "human resources", will be like a snake eating its own tail... and getting smaller every day.

Sigh.

Frankly, if I went back in time 30 years, and told myself what I know today, I wouldn't believe me, either.

Check out the links, for yourself, and if you feel inspired, write the letters. Better yet, go to your county courthouse law library - and start reading. It takes time to learn the jargon and construction of legalese, but it is worth the effort.
Remember, before there were "licensed" lawyers, all it took to be a lawyer was the ability to READ THE LAW. (Like Abe Lincoln!)

Introduction

Final thought

I will leave you with this example of the generation that founded these united States of America.

Virginia Constitution, 1776.
SEC. 6. That elections of members to serve as representatives of the people, in assembly, ought to be free; and that all men, having sufficient evidence of permanent common interest with, and attachment to, the community, have the right of suffrage, and cannot be taxed or deprived of their property for public uses, without their own consent, or that of their representatives so elected, nor bound by any law to which they have not, in like manner, assembled, for the public good.
All men ... cannot be taxed without their own consent.
All men ... cannot be deprived of their property for public uses without their own consent.
All men ... cannot be bound by any law that is not for the public good.
He who consents cannot complain!

We'll see. The one in Arvada, CO does not allow alchol, so that ought to keep things quieter. But you get some crazed, worked up people drinking alcohol in the heat on the 4th of July and it could get pretty wild.

I guess we should keep an eye out for troublemakers. There was quite a few Democrats at the last one I went to.
