For the GOP, it keeps getting worse. The self-proclamed Family Values and Fiscal Responsibility Party has been going through some epically embarrassing moments in the last few years. One one hand, the repeated sexual indescretions of it's 2012 hopefuls, and on the other, the failure of the majority party (until 2006) to keep government spending under control has further strained an already troubled party.

It certainly does not bode well for the GOP. Barring any more peter-in-the-wrong-house moments, the GOP will have to use the next 3.5 years to get back on track. I guess ridding the party of the scourge is better now than later.

The GOP needs to start listening to it's constituents, and not allow the extreme right do their talking for them.
