“I’d be up for it,” he said. Excited fans even set up a “Draft Joe the Plumber” site. But in a new interview with WorldNetDaily, Wurzelbacher said that he now isn’t planning to run because God doesn’t want him to:
I agree; that's what he meant. Now if he's raising taxes on some and cutting them for others (even some who don't pay), how is this different from how others have characterized his spread the wealth around comment?
It's different because some are characterizing it as socialism, when in reality it is nothing more than a run of the mill adjustment in the amount of taxes people pay based on their income level. This has been done numerous times in our history. Why, only now, is it socialism?
This thread shows that there really is a great divide in this country. There are people who talk to God and listen to His voice. And there are people who roll their eyes at that notion and call the first group neanderthals. Before 1960 (or thereabouts) the vast majority of Americans, past and present, belonged to the first group. That means that there were a lot of neanderthals in the pantheon of liberal heroes. But since 1960 (or thereabouts) we've become very smart in this country, very sophisticated. We even proclaimed God to be dead. So He must be. And because of our new-found wisdom this country is so much better than it was when it was as normal as breathing to talk to God and to hear His voice.
Oh right! Before 1960 the world was a magical perfect place, no problems, everybody dizzy with happiness....and then someone said god is dead and it all went downhill from there...
....and humankind, who some believe was created by this god, didn't do ANYTHING to bring about today's problems.....sure......it was all "god in a pout"....

Okay, I see what you're saying. I think the part that raises a question for me would be if it did indeed include people that didn't pay and got money in return. That aside, yes there is political spin to it as there is on both side of a campaign.
"Joe the Plumber won’t run for office: “You know, I talked to God about that and he was like, ‘No.’”
I may have to reconsider my lack of believe in gods! Now if this god would only talk to a few more of those who claim to represent him.
Is this the same God that George Bush talked to and got a green light to invade Iraq?

I don't know if she's a wackjob or not and neither do you. The point is the same. Joe asked a question that caused some embarrassment to Obama and was attacked for it. Wackjob or not is irrelevant. His question was simple, legitimate, and should not have drawn any attack. Even as an Obama supporter during the campaign, wouldn't you like to know his policies?
Not to beat a dead horse, but Rggr, have you ever once watched the five minute video of their exchange? If you had you wouldnt be embarrassing yourself by parroting that old fairy tale.

I've watched it several times and read the transcript. He asked a fair question. Obama supporters didn't like it, so they went after him.

He asked a fair question and Obama answered nicely and at great length. Faux et al. clipped the "share the wealth" few seconds -- I dont believe they *ever* ran the full five minute interaction or even showed it on their site -- and Joe was lionized by the RW media. Reporters naturally started checking out who this new overnight celebrity was. And right away it was discovered that come to find out, he wasnt planning to buy a plumbing business, he didnt make $250K, etc etc etc. So that made for laughs and jeers. The right wing had to spin it -- the exact same way they have to say "Libruls laugh at Sarah Palin cuz they're skeered of 'er!" -- out of self-defense. They made up the stories about King Obama was displeased and ordered this lone voice of truth be crushed, David and Goliath, etc. And some folks insist on believing the spin in the face of all reality.
