Affirmative Action is the appendix of the American body politic: it no longer serves a useful purpose and should be done away with.

So it is gut feel.

There was a study just released that showed people rated white male customer service people higher than women or minorities - regardless of their actual performance. In other words, there's a built-in bias to regard "white male" as the standard, default position, and any deviation from that is regarded negatively.

There are also the widely known studies that people with "black names" have their resumes trashed, even if they are more qualified than the "white name" resumes.

And that blacks have loan applications rejected at much higher rates than equivalent white applicants.

So, I have actual studies to back up the continuing need for affirmative action, and you have gut feel. Who should we believe?

Of course there are; meth is a big money-maker in many rural areas. I was
very specific in writing that I was speaking of my own area. But take my word for it...I have never seen a white person harvesting anything here, except at the little "pick your own" places. I'm sure that there are places in almost every state that hire illegals, but I'm talking about people who are American citizens and simply follow the harvests as crops ripen..then they are here for the winter.
This is a rural area, so it's not difficult to hide a meth lab...it's big business,
since there are very few jobs...and as I said, I see with my own eyes that
there are no whites lining up to pick fruit. The situation is different with illegals, but I have a hard time criticizing people who want to become U.S.
citizens. On the maternal side, I am a first-generation natural born American; I know how much pride my grandparents and mother took in their citizenship. Of course, they were from England and lily-white; I suspect that makes a difference.
