Seriously, as the article states minorities compromise the vast majority of its sales, so Detroit seems like a good spot to market it.

I don't think its a secret that Colt 45 is almost entirely consumed by black people. They're just advertising to their demographic. Advertising 101. It doesn't mean all black people drink Colt 45, but most Colt 45 drinkers are black. Where do you want them to advertise, in a white suburb where nobody drinks that crap?

This is not a major story. I went to the Detroit New and Free Press websites just to see where this story was located when compared to other news, and I could not even find it. (I did follow the link given by the poster, so I am aware that this story is located somewhere in the Metro/State section of the Detroit News, but it's not even on the front page of that section). I would hardly call this a big story in Detroit.
