The older I get the less confidence I have in the Govenments ability to do anything compently. The only things they seem to do well is waste huge sums of money, and be a constant example of poor, if not criminal ethics. I was just wondering how many others felt the same way.
Just like every other business there is about 10% dead weight.
You can't go into any corporation without finding it.
You just hear the stories about the losers; not the winners.
I've been in and around the government for almost 30 years, there are exceptional employees who get dragged down by the few.
You, as a nation will of people, have to find full competence & trust in the Military, the Government, the church or the Corporation, and give full control to them. One of them will be in control.
Only 1 you elect. I will take Government over the other three.
We have a say, and it comes every election time.
But, sometimes you win, and sometimes you loose.
So you wait, till the next cycle and try again.
I think there is more like 90% dead weight and 10% decent. Far too many fall prey to bullying and threats from thugs like Palosi and Reid and even the good guys end up voting down the party line even when they disagree.
Our government is full of corruption and a disdain for the very people that put them in office.
There is about 90% dead weight and about 10% who are competent and usually just passing through as they get fed up with the loiterers and bureaucrats who stifle improvement.
Private sector incompetence is weeded out, in government it's grounds for advancement.
The choice is always between Tweedledee and Tweedledum. The problem is those who think that the problems would just go away if people elected their parties candidate, that some how being of party A is better then party B, when that kind of fanaticism and "my way or the highway" is simply wrong. Voting for the head of lettuce without discriminating their record and where their values fall is the worst of the voting fallacies, and allows the incompetent into office.
The founding fathers vision was great for starting point for a new nation.
It was a starting point. They expected it to change.
Their vision wasn't for the 1800's the 1900's or today.
Everything changes over time. Everything.
I noticed the Constitution wasn't really amended to account for this bigger government. The founding fathers put that clause into the document. We circumvent their vision by enacting federal "codes" and bills that look more like encyclopedia volumes. They knew that once government gets this big and pervasive, it's essentially a tower of babel situation and the inevitable outcome is revolution and the process starting all over again.
It's sad to think they would have been satisfied with government getting as big as it has in 2009. There is no evidence they've ever wanted this to occur.
