Actually, I pretty much agree with all of that, with the exception of Foreign Trade Policy, which could using some tweaking. I don't think it would be in our best interest in the global economy to institute a protectionism/isolationist mentality.
Education; I would like to see something like Canada has. Your property taxes are portable - you get to decide if you want public or Catholic school and your PT money follows you.
Government needs to shrink, drastically. That is a sore point between conservatives and liberals and usually where the partisan bickering starts.
This is why we need a coalition government, multiple parties to better represent the US population.
That will be hard to do. The liberal agenda is to expand government while the conservative agenda (should be) is to shrink the government. How do you reconcile one of the major ideological debates into a coalition government?
Based on previous polling (conservative/liberal identification) and recent polls that show people are extremely alarmed at the rate of deficit spending and increasing debt, I would say most people fall on the side of smaller, less intrusive government.

Wow....that's a view I hadn't heard yet.I personally find they are not nearly conservative enough for me on many issues. That's cool tho'...that's why we are discussing a third party because the two old ones are just not cutting it and the lines have blurred.

That's what I thought too...the last (going on) 9 years have just seemed like a total money fest for politicians.....you couldn't BURN that much money if you tried and it doesn't seem to be changing with this new Boss either.
WHEN is there going to be some fiscal responsibility and some accounting for all of this money that has been spent over the last 9 years? When is it going to stop, when China finally says..."No more"?

We don't have to merge them San,all we have to do is get rid of the extremists on both sides by voting them out or with a third party that is more centrist...if they(wingers from both sides) are out of office, let them go on FOX and MSNBC and scream their asses off,no one will care because then they are irrelevent to the discussion.Impotent
I agree with mule..each side needs to give and take. Going down the middle of the road is fair to both sides. We may not like bits and pieces depending on which side you personally lean to but it would be a compromise that most could live with.
You will always have extremists on both ends but this is a democracy and the majority rules.
