This is criminal.

Billions To Stimulate Criminality

Quote:
Corruption: A nonprofit group committing a crime conjures up images of terrorist fundraising. But $8.5 billion in taxpayer money may go to specialists in political terror: the tax-exempt scam artists of Acorn
Truly, undeniably outrageous.

Quote:
The reams of evidence provided by House Oversight and Government Reform Committee ranking Republican Darrell Issa of California and his GOP colleagues on the panel strongly suggest so.

Their more-than-80-page report charges that the Association of Community Organizations for Reform Now (Acorn) uses "a complex structure designed to conceal illegal activities" — 361 different entities in 120 cities, 43 states and the District of Columbia, amounting to a "shell game" that "diverts taxpayer and tax-exempt monies into partisan political activities."

Sending money to a racist group like this who is under investigation for fraud?

You gotta be kidding me.

He is holding out sending needed money to areas who can create jobs for people and he wont send them the money because they strongly voted for McCain.

Obama is a fraud himself.

If this is in fact happening then he is committing of being an accessory to fraud.

Sanrene, can you see what he is doing? He is sending OUR MONEY to areas that will help him in re election time and keeping money out of the hands of those who did not vote for him.

We need a task force to look into this and if this is in fact done, he needs to be called out on it in public and we need to demand our money back from these scam artist.

ACORN does more good and it outweighs any bad that they did..and the bad was reported by them.....they hire people to work and just like at other jobs if you cheat the employer..you get fired...people who filled out fake voter registration forms got fired.

ACORN: Overview

Quote:
ACORN demands that lawmakers pass comprehensive immigration reform measures that include the following:

A path to citizenship for the estimated 12 million undocumented immigrants currently living in the United States.
Protection for all workers – both native and foreign-born – by upholding fair wages and working conditions for U.S. and immigrant workers and by ending exploitation and abuse of undocumented immigrant labor.
Reunification of families through removal of restrictions and bureaucratic delays. Those who have waited in line should have their admission expedited, and those admitted on work visas should be able to keep their nuclear families in tact.
Restoration of the rule of law and enhancement of security by providing a path to permanent status with effective enforcement.
Maybe you are a little naive to understand the scope of this, but any organization that demands law breakers be rewarded, should not be subsidized with taxpayers hard earned dollars.

Can you find ANY documentation that they are going to receive $8.5 billion.... other than they may be eligible to apply for grants?

And can anyone show that they have applied for grants asking for billions?

This was beat to death when the stimulus was first proposed and debated!

FactCheck.org: Does the stimulus bill include a $5.2 billion payoff for ACORN? (http://www.factcheck.org/askfactcheck/does_the_stimulus_bill_include_a_52.html - broken link)

How Can Anyone Believe The $5.2 Billion ACORN Myth? - Yahoo! Answers

It seems like things are thrown out there by the right.... debated (I'd say refuted but...), time goes by, and the same thing pops up again!

Bush wanted to do the same...Reagan did do it.

Immigration Reform and Control Act of 1986
The Act also granted a path towards legalization to certain agricultural seasonal workers and immigrants who had been continuously and illegally present in the United States since January 1, 1982
