OK, great for you. I'm glad you're doing it.

BTW,I don't think you understood the context of my post:

Exactly. I say get rid of the Dept. of Defense and let every American get a $1 million refund so we can get our own armaments and put them in our back yard bunkers.[/quote]

I was being sarcastic - the barb was directed at the poster who seemed to see government as an extraneous thing.........

First people opposed to federal insurance say there is no problem because there really are not that many people that are uninsured and even the ones that are don't get sick. Then out the other side of their mouths they say that health care costs are so high because they are making up for not collecting anything from the uninsured.

So here it is, if there are a lot of uninsured then they probably need some type of insurance, if there are not a lot of unhealthy uninsured then you really have no valid argument as to why health costs are so high. You pick.

I think this info shows how that 45 million is not a monolithic group as far as their reasons and circumstances for being uninsured. This can explain why you don't see those 45 million Americans out in the streets protesting in huge numbers about not having healthcare insurance. The Americans within that 45 million that are eligible for medicade for example aren't going to "unite" with those who are illegal and legal immigrants and that immigrant group probably won't be uniting with those Americans who choose not to get insurance for whatever reason. I'am thinking that reform needs to be aimed specificlly at those Americans within that 45 million who will tend to be more chronically uninsured. The immigrants in this group will likely be dealt with through immigration reform.
